Who is Burman?
Burman, as he is fondly known, is a BITS Pilani engineer, a father to two darling daughters and he is exceedingly passionate about food, music, bean coffee, and a plant-based life…
He is also the nephew of the genius music director RD Burman, belonging to the Dev Burman family.
Burman’s affinity for cuisine from South India, bears roots from his school days in 1980’s and his time at Pilani, both which exposed him to many podis from different southern states.
Cut to his (erstwhile) food fussy daughter not willing to eat her dosas with anything but podi. So dear dad, starts refining batches by duly adding nutrient dense ingredients to include good fats, protein, vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants & fiber, to compensate for missing nutrients in her diet.
15 different, choice ingredients are hand-picked, individually roasted, blended to a time-tested ratio, slowly pulse ground in series of small bursts, to finally give Burman’s Gun Podi ® its unique flavor and a grainy texture profile.
